Finding the right therapist can be a very daunting task and produce undue anxiety. Those who decide to attend counseling may have or currently experience trauma, esteem and self concept problems, developmental issues, bullying, loss, relationship concerns, emotional turmoil, family conflict, or other stressors. The added weight of seeking help does not go unnoticed and I am here to reduce the stress of that process. My commitment is to create a safe space for clients to feel comfortable to share their story. Ultimately, clients often have the answers within, and through our work together I can help you uncover what was there all along. Therapy is not like a dry erase board where problems can be wiped away, but it can help you recognize opportunities to attain the tools necessary to COPE...Climb Over Problems Everyday.
I have been working with adolescents and families since 2001 in the community and school setting. My therapeutic approach and training is centered around, but not limited to, Trauma Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Transtheoretical Model, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Interventions. Therapy is not a one size fits all process. I am here to tailor your experience to a fit that will suit your needs.
I’m a wife, mother of two amazingly different children, a school counselor, and a baker. I’ve always been drawn to helping people and bringing joy to their life as I am strengthened by whatever I am able to impart on others. I look forward to helping you discover your own means to COPE.
